Good evening to all,

For our mass communication to our congregation we created a distribution list via the email accounts that are offered through Final Web. I have also set up a devotion list that contains people who like to get the daily devotion that the synod puts out. The pro is that any one can quick send out a reminder of an event or a request for help. The only drawback of this that I have found is that the message sometimes comes across as spam.

There is a church in Round Rock, TX that uses Yahoo groups, but the administrator has taken out the ability to send attachments and it is more of a text type emails that come through.God's blessing,
Jason R Petoskey

Currently we use it for our weekly school newsletter and monthly school reports to the Church Council, as well as "breaking" school news including Call information or summer updates from the principal, for example. We toyed with the idea of sending our monthly church newsletter via PHP List, but with many members not having access to computers, have held off on using it that way at this time. You can also import html files that you create elsewhere. You can get an RSS feed and include that content into a list mailing - automatically if you want, daily, weekly, etc. It can fetch and send web pages. If a message gets forwarded, you get a notification and can track that as well, among other "click" tracking features. It uses a Bounce Processing feature to keep your database clean of unused and non-existent email addresses. It manages message delivery with a message queue, ensuring that every> subscriber gets the email message, and that no subscribers receive two> copies, even if they're subscribed to more than one list. Configuration after install can also be a bit tricky, but the message boards and FAQ can walk you through it. It requires Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP (LAMP).
