Wisconsin Lutheran College is looking for a new Academic Vice-President.
The search committee for this position earnestly wishes to have you

The committee hopes to gather names as quickly as possible, suggest a
list of candidates to our new president (President Tim Kriewall) and
Board of Regents and our Southeastern Wisconsin District President
(Pastor David Rutschow), and have the College Board of Regents extend a
call as soon as the Lord would allow.

Job Description for WLC Vice-President of Academic Affairs:

The Vice-President of Academic Affairs at Wisconsin Lutheran College
holds a challenging and exciting call from God to serve and help direct
the academic mission of this college.  As such, the person holding this
call should not think of this position as a secular job or as a hired
posting to be grasped.  This high calling requires strong academic
skills and expertise, but more importantly , spiritual maturity and
scriptural acumen. An evangelical spirit, a servant-leader's heart, and
a love for souls bought by Christ are essential attributes.  In
addition, the Vice-President of Academic Affairs at Wisconsin Lutheran
College has the following specific physical responsibilities:

1.  To advise and assist the president in carrying out the academic
policies of the college, and to recommend changes and improvements to
the same;
2.  To transmit to the president the annual academic division agenda and
budget and to administer the same;
3.  To supervise the work of the director of institutional research, the
director of arts programming, director of information services, the
registrar, the assistant dean for assessment, and the assistant dean for
faculty development, and to coordinate their efforts;
4.  In cooperation with faculty, prepare reports required by the Board
of Regents, by the president, by the faculty, and by accrediting
agencies; 5.  To supervise the review process for all faculty and
student research endeavors which use human subjects;
6.  To facilitate the annual revision and publication of the college's
master plan and to promote meaningful planning processes;
7.  At the direction of the president, or in the event of his absence or
incapacitation, to assume those duties of the president deemed necessary
to ensure the continued operation of the college;
8.  To exercise general supervision of the faculty and be concerned with
the efficient operation of the various academic departments;
9.  To supervise curricula, courses, methods of instruction, and grading
practices;
10. To edit the academic publications of the college;
11. To coordinate and direct student academic progress;
12. To supervise the work of the department chairs, support them in
their work, and coordinate their efforts through regular meetings;
13. To coordinate the work of the faculty through its governance
structures in coordination with the chair of the faculty;
14. To supervise, in cooperation with the dean of enrollment services,
the program of academic advisement; and
15. To recommend faculty and adjunct instructor candidates for calls to
the college.
